Moto Accident 10.10

I am recovering nicely from the surgery it seems. Attached are the photos (before and after surgery). So far, I’m completely pain med free today. *knock on wood*

I’m real happy with the work. The scar is already smaller than the previous one. This doctor did such a superb job. I’m amazed at the difference in how the incision looks, even at this early stage.

I’m scheduled to go back to work on a modified duty [1]4 hour shifts next week. Barring any complications, the following week I go back to full duty.

Sadly, I got word today my bike is gonna be totaled. I knew it was the most likely outcome but I’m bummed. My blue beast was so lovely. I miss him. *sniffle* I’ll get another one but there is gonna be a delay until the insurance company decides fault. *sigh*

  1. Sorry to hear about the bike, but WOW….those are some amazing pictures. Particularly the x-rays. Fascinating.

Take care and feel better! 🙂

  2. That's going to be one sexy, sexy scar. Sorry to read that the "Blue Beast" has gone on to the crotch rocket place in the sky. I'm sure you'll find another suitable replacement.

I'm glad to read you're healing quickly.

  3. Oh, I forgot to add, rub some Vitamin E oil into your incision area after the stitches are removed – it will heal quite quickly and reduce the appearance of a scar, unless of course, you want to be all macho 'n stuff and show it off.

  4. Didn't know about the wreck, sorry to hear iof the blue beasts' demise. Glad you are in as good of spirits as you are considering everything. I am still waiting on some parts after I was rear ended on my bike a year ago Memorial Day…yes MAY of 2009. Bike actually hung together rather well, I kindda saw it happening out the corner of my eye – so I gave it some gas to try to get out of the way…but it was a scary 2 seconds… glad I was wearing boxers cause i left two sets of skid-marks – TMI!

I thought about you this morning casue I had to put the winter liner in my moto-jacket with temp at the freezing mark here in Austin, Tx.

Maybe you should get a BRIGHT RED or NEON YELLOW bike next time…

or a 3-wheeler – jerks will feel that when they hit you!
