Good Spirits

scar

It’s been a good couple of days.  Friday morning I woke up in a funk and was a bit down.  Nothing really wrong per se.  I think the being cooped up was getting to me.  Anyway, Friday afternoon my buddy Frank totally surprised me by showing up at my door unannounced.  It was just what the doctor ordered.  I couldn’t have been more delighted and it immediately put me in a better mood.  We hung out, caught up over sushi and spent the evening watching Tivo and movies. Today, we had breakfast (and lunch) with Adam.  Afterwards, I hobbled over to Adam’s place with the group and we played MarioKart and Soul Caliber IV.  It was so nice to feel like my old self again and just enjoy hanging out.  I think it was just what the doctor ordered!

Afterwards, Frank tagged along to help me shop for a new bike.  I’ve forged a strong relationship with a dealer here in the city.  The same guys I bought my scooter and my last bike from.  They happened to have 2 bikes I was interested in, a Yamaha R6 and a Suzuki GSXR.  I was originally leaning toward the R6 only because they told me the GSXR was red.  I do not care for red at all for a vehicle color.

Well, I got there and they had a surprised for me.  They had 2 GSXR’s.  One red and one blue!  I think I pee’d a little I was so excited.  Needless to say, I chose the Blue GSXR750.  Wahoooo!

Here is a pic of the exact bike.  Did you touch yourself yet?  I know I did.  I finish the paperwork this week and should be able to bring it home by Friday.  Keep your fingers crossed all goes according to plan!

  1. Wow..the bruising si disappearing really fast. I don’t know anything about bikes..but it looks pretty cool. I especially like that its the kind you have to hunch forward and ride…like you were on all fours.

  2. I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to hear other gay guys feel good when they have a nice group of friends to just hang out with and do fun things. It really makes a world of difference. And I’m glad your feeling better. So when you gonna ride to NYC to gimme a ride on your new bikey? I’m waitin’ here on the corner for ya. πŸ˜‰

  3. I meant to ask before…will the metal and screws eventually come out or are they in there for good? I’ve never known anyone to have this type of surgery and don’t know if it is just to help heal or permanent.

Either way, I’m glad you seem to be feeling a lot better. Keep on the mend!

@Gavin – they are supposed to be permanent. If they become an irritation, I can have it removed but only after a year.

  4. Good to hear you’re on the mend. Seems like you’re a bit of a fast healer. If I were you I’d be sitting at home and whinging for much longer. Good choice on the new bike. It’s fraking hot, but then again so is an R6, however I whole-heartedly support your decision!

  5. Sweet Ride…must be hard waiting to pick it up. I like Jeff’s comment above – lol…. like it was your choice, but you are getting a nice bike out of it.
Good Luck with work and continued healing…

  6. Nice ride. Is the shoulder going to be strong enough to drive it on Friday.

@Java – sadly no. I’ll have to have a friend ride it home for me.

  7. Dude, did I not tell you to get a CAR?? Even a SmartCar would offer more accident protection!!!

but if you must have a bike, you couldn’t spring for a Hyabusa or maybe even a Buell?? πŸ™‚

  8. That bike is sweet. When you be able to start riding it? πŸ™‚

    @chris – I won’t be able to drive for a couple of weeks. I can’t wait!

  9. Yeah I figured it would be a while before you could ride again – that’s gonna be rough – having it and not being able to take it out – hope the recovery process is going well and that you’re managing w/ one hand :-). Somehow I’m confident that you’re managing just fine! πŸ™‚
