About

MobyThe Man: I’m a gay man in my 40s living in San Francisco. I’m currently wandering thru life with my partner and a lazy farting bulldog named Cooper. I work in civil service and divide my free time between blogging, the gym, console gaming, my bulldog, and riding my motorcycle. The nickname Moby is short for Mobius, the tattoo on my back.

The Blog:
I started blogging out of curiosity. It morphed into a chronicle of my life after a painful break up. It eventually grew into my struggle to be a better man. The blog often consists of rants, random thoughts, memories of my past, and my take on current events. This should begin to give you a picture of what it is to be me. I make a concerted effort to include inflection and my style of speech in my writing. Topics often run the gambit from the utterly mundane to life changing realizations.

The Journey: My life started out pretty hard. I experienced more in the first 25 years than most people go through in a life time. I grew up in the very rural backwoods of East TX and have the scars to prove it. As a young man, I was adrift for many years without any hope or a plan for my future. After years of struggle and a bout with homelessness I was able to find some stability. Thankfully, I’ve been able to build a life for myself.

The Future:  I’m concerned about where we are headed as a society. We must overcome the indifference and anti-intellectualism becoming prevalent in the world. We are turning into a society based on selfishness and greed. Integrity, honesty, and distinction are more than buzzwords to me. I hope that my insights bring perspective to the topics at hand while giving you a view of what it is to be me. Thanks for reading!
