Del.icio.us

I would say “geek alert” however, I’d like some feedback on this particular post.

I’ve been hearing about the social bookmarking site del.icio.us for some time now. I decided to check it out today. Not bad. It’s sort of like friendster, tribe, and myspace except you share bookmarks instead of self-profiles. Any computer, phone, pda, etc w/net access I can log in and see my bookmarks. Of course, this ties in nicely w/my desire to make the web my portal of online activities.

With del.icio.us I have the choice of listing my tags or my actual bookmarks. I’m just starting so my tag list is minimal at best. I’ve also only added a few bookmarks for now. My question is how many people prefer seeing a list of my tags or the actual bookmarks?

Game for about anything if I had a slight clue what you were talking ab out. I am so computer illiterate sometimes. HMMMM! (*sigh)

Hey are you have blog display issues? Your post today is way the heck down on the screeen entry. Not sure why such the gap?!?!

Oh!, P.S. Our friend from Cajun town I think is weakening – talked to him on the phone last night. He’s waitin’ on Homer. And to my friend from Cajun town, if you read this, I told you we were all conspiring to get you out here. Heehee!

  2. You know, it’s your place, whatever you’d like to do is how I feel about it.

That’s the point about all of Windows Live Services (including Live Favourites) which is supposed to sort of be like de.lic.ious I suppose. I personally have my Live Favourites in folder view though I could display by tag. I just use folder view so I could share my news and blog favourites easier, rather than maintain a seperate links/blogs list.

  3. The tags are nice, but you probably shouldn’t publish a link to your bank’s website. If a hacker wanted to try and get into your bank account, it makes it a tad bit easier since he knows your name now.

They’ve had a few problems with identity theft too, so better safe than sorry.

So yeah either way is cool, whichever you prefer. I love looking at people del.icio.us lists.

  4. Nathan – that was very considerate of you. However, Moby is my nickname based on a tattoo…No connection to my real name. Thanks for looking out for me though.
