Flickr

As much as I hate to, I joined flickr. I don’t like sites like flickr because it takes the control out of my hands. Sometimes though, convenience out weighs the desire. I can’t get the blog by email function in WordPress to work correctly when using w/an image so I figure this is the next best thing.

I routinely like to upload pics from the phone and would like it to post automatically vs waiting so expect more random photos! Wahooo!

Upgrading

I’m upgrading to the newest version of WordPress today. If things are missing, broken, or look funny don’t worry. All will be back to normal by days end.

All done. The update was simple but I’m always paranoid something will go wrong. I hack the hell out of my blog so I’m surprised it went so smoothly. The only glitch came w/the catergory restriction plug-in. I did a little code tinkering and managed to get it working again. (Pure luck mind you, I was clueless to what the part I took out was supposed to do.) I tested a few comments on the hidden posts however, if you discover a bug or a problem, let me know.

Gentle Reminder

I just had to ban the 3rd person ever from my blog today. Only after a very snotty email mind you. I don’t have time for such antics.

I certainly don’t begrudge anyone the right to make money however, don’t do it at the expense of my bandwidth. Or, at least have the common sense to ask me beforehand.

If you link to your own personal profile and/or blog, I’m happy to have your link. However, if you link to the main page of a commercial site in a vain attempt to drive up your site traffic, I will ban you and your IP from my blog permanently.

I doubt I get that much site traffic to really make a difference however, I consider it very rude to do so.

The Dark Side

I’m delighted to tell you, I’ve seduced brettcajun over to the dark side of the web 2.0. Heheee! He finally broke down and joined the ranks of twitter this week. You can follow his ramblings here. I noticed he updated the blog to include a twitter widget. USE THE FORCE BRETT! Now, he just needs to start updating it more often. Then he’ll truly know the power of the dark side of the force! Oh yes, Web 2.0 is very addicting.

All joking aside, I support any technology that encourages communication. twitter is a cute service that fast becomes an obsession because you can get up-to-the-minute random minutia on your friends comings and goings. Especially when your friends live all over nation.

Utter Randomness

Absolutely nothing overtly exciting in this post. Really, I swear. Oh alright, I do have a few half way interesting pics to share. That’s it!

Seems like a case of the nasties is going around the intarweb lately. From brettcajun’s regular hater list, Jimbo’s recent brush w/the a snooty-patooty, and homer getting a snotty email from a frigid hag over a minor posting error, my weekly list of not-so-fond admirers seems dull in comparison. Yes, I get hate mail. I often ignore them as I don’t have time for other people’s issues. Hell, I barely have time for mine. The last said commenter went thru the effort to register as a user and then complained about my explicit posts. Ignoramus, I told you not to register if you didn’t wanna hear about such things. Most often, I think folks are operating under the incorrect assumption I give a shit what they think of my life. No thanks, I’m all stocked up on bullshit here. That, or they feel compelled to project their own issues onto my choices. See afore mentioned comment. Moving right along….

The weekend was uneventful. The roomie’s bf is in town for a filming gig. He kept showing off his new iphone which I am summarily unimpressed with. Ok, ok, I’ll give props to the very slick interface however, it does very little besides look flashy. Here is a pic we snapped on our way to see the Harry Potter flick.

Weekend In Review III

I’m happy to report the weekend went much better than the very stressful week. I still didn’t get the damn laundry done.1 Ugh! The bane of my domestic life.

Friday was pretty low key. I napped, played xbox, hit the gym, napped, and ate. Pretty much in that order too. Adam was in town this past week. He’d gotten his release papers from Nowhere-ville, Cali and was itchin’ for some fun. It was decided the Powerhouse would be a nice romp. Turns out it was jockstrap night or some shit. Why is it the folks naked are never the ones you wanna see naked? Kalvin looked pretty good in his though. He just needed some sunshine.2 The bar made some attempt at having “go-go dancers” if they could be called that. Naturally, the only hot one I already knew.

Anyway, I can’t say enough good things about the sexy slab of beef, Adam. We originally met at the blogger shindig a few weeks back. This weekend, we really forged a good friendship. Turns out, he is just as incorrigible as I am. My only regret is his sexy little bear boyfriend wasn’t with him.

Saturday, we had a nice work out together. We did shoulders. I must admit I was a little apprehensive. He has a very well developed upper body. I held my own though and we had a good workout. Afterwards, Calvin & JR joined us for some Sushi in the hood. I’m always thrilled when I find new sushi buddies. Adam and I then headed off to an Xbox gamer gathering. He gets a gold star for putting up with the worst party I think I’ve ever been to. I finally had enough and we bailed to go see the new Harry Potter flick. I enjoyed it much more than the last. Harry finally starts growing up a bit and taking charge vs being at the whim of whatever happens his way. Later, we were all a bit tired and ended up hanging out at Calvin & JR’s socializing. Adam and I were as well behaved3 as could be expected. heheee

This morning, the group invited me to go have Dim Sum with’em. I’m a little embarrassed to say I’d never done Dim Sum before. It was fun. We sampled practically everything on the menu. Well, except the chicken feet. I may have grown up in a trailer but even I have my limits.

That’s pretty much it. I had to head off to work after that. I won’t bore you with those details.
