I know what you mean, Moby. With my blogspot blog you practically need a retina scan and a blood sample before you can post comments because I was going through the exact same kind of spam you blogged about.
Check out http://akismet.com/ for yer spam probs. I installed it and now all my spam gets held up elsewhere, it just adds another tab in the dashboard area of yer wordpress admin options.
