I got summoned for Jury Duty today. I had to be up bright and early after working till 11pm last night. Needless to say, I’m cranky. Whoever he/she is it better be good otherwise GUILTY!
Actually, this is my first time to be called all the way in. I’ve gotten summons in the past but never had to go in. Nothing so glamorous as OJ, Scott Peterson, or Britney. No, I’m just dealing w/superior court which usually means traffic or misdemeanor offenses. I was worried I was gonna be late but made it w/plenty of time to spare.
I’m a little weirded out at the moment. Half the Jurors look like they should be on the other side of the bench. lol. Haven’t people ever heard of being “presentable”? Whatever, I’m lucky in that I get my full salary from work today. Everyone is stuck w/their $20.00 a day check which doesn’t even cover parking expenses.
I’m sitting in the assembly room waiting to for instructions and the guilty, oh I mean, defendant. hehehe
Wouldn’t it be funny if the defendant was someone you… um saw, at bb’s?
Entertaining, but I’m pretty sure he’d have to acknowledge knowing the defendent and would get removed from the jury. I’d be more interested to know if he’d recognize the uniformed court officers from bb’s. 😉
Actually, both of you are half right. Not the defendant (this was only pre-selection process) and not any of the sheriffs however, one of the potential jurors I’ve “met” at Auntie bb’s.
What, and you and he didn’t take a bathroom break at the same time? *giggle* Oh, wait… the criminal justice system is a very serious topic… my bad. 🙂
Ugh I can’t stand being on jury duty. Thankfully, all of my cases thus far have been cancelled.
