Medium Rare or Well Done?

Well, the trip is slowly winding down. I had a really good time. I was actually a little worried I’d be bored as I didn’t plan anything this trip. I usually try to squeeze in one or two touristy things while I’m here. I didn’t plan anything in advance this time.

Saturday after the beach, I went bar hopping w/a gang of guys I met at the resort where I was staying. Someone commented about where I was staying. I stay at the Grand Resort every time I visit FTL. They recently added a spa which they push really hard now.

I’m digressing… We started off at Bill’s. Kinda like the Edge in SF. Good crowd and very friendly muscle bears. Grrrrrr! Then it was over to Ramrod (leather/levi/sleaze bar) and lastly George’s Alibi. George’s is by far my favorite bar in FTL. Diverse crowds, good musice/videos, pool, and hot bartendars. I always have a good time there. Afterwards, I ran over to Granny’s (aka the baths) to say hello. Granny was very happy to see me1! Oy was I tired when I got home.

Yesterday, I drove down to South Beach, Miami for the day. One of the guys from the resort tagged along and was good company. En route we had a little snafu, I ended up taking the wrong exit ramp. Not being afraid to stop and ask directions, this little detour only added 20 minutes to the drive. However, I can now say, I’ve been to Pinecrest, Florida. hehehe.

I prefer Ft Lauderdale to Miami beaches. There just seems to be more ‘tude on South Beach. Granted the ratio of total hotties goes up significantly however, good genetics is never an excuse for poor manners in my opinion. That said, I got lots of stares. Admittedly, I was pleased by that. Truth be told, I was a tad worried2. Turns out, I didn’t have anything at all to worry about. We did the beach for a couple hours and then off to do some shopping. Before heading back to Ft Lauderdale, we stopped for a very relaxing meal at a Mexican Cafe on the strip.

The strip mall in Miami always reminds me of Boulder, CO3. Miami and Ft Lauderdale for that matter are nowhere as dense as SF. Having a car is a must if you go anywhere outside the beaches. The rental was a Dodge Caliber. It was fresh from the dealer w/only 15 miles on it4. I didn’t take many pictures I’m afraid. I don’t get off on taking pics of scenery and since I’m solo on this trip, there really wasn’t a lot to take pictures of. Sure, I could have taken pics of all the ‘menses’ however, what’s the point? I live in a city full of beautiful men. No, I took a few pics of the guys I met at the resort as I really enjoyed meeting them and that’s about it. (I’ll post later once I’ve edited for size)

I picked up a few souveniers for kristaki as he always does the same for me. I also picked up a new baseball cap. I love bb caps. I got a very nice albeit expensive sweater from a local designer in Miami. What else? I’m having a brain fart at the moment so more later I guess.

I’ve had major cravings for Arby’s this weekend. At least once every day. lol I also grabbed a couple of their sandwhicches for the flight home as JetBlue only serves snacks.

More later

1 Ft Lauderdale has a very large and very nicely done bathouse. Of course, being fresh meat, I was very popular. I can now report FTL has just as many bottoms as SF.

2 With my schedule lately, my gym time has suffered quite a bit. However, I did make it to the gym at least once while here.

3 It is an outdoor mall and people are encourage to walk vs drive.

4 The tags were expired and I got a ticket. I made sure to take pictures of the ticket and the tags. Last time I had a problem like this with a rental, they tried to stick me for it after the fact. I hadn’t saved any copies so it was long battle before I finally won. Lesson learned.

  1. We once rented a Mustang Convertible that had a dent in it, I was real glad that I took pictures in the parking lot – before we left in it –
We didnt see the dent until afterwards – but we could see the dent in the parking lot pictures
