Cunt-inental

Remind me to NEVER fly with Continental airlines ever again. Both flights coming/going have been late. I’m sitting in IAH waiting, waiting, and waiting for my plane to arrive. I just heard the plane finally landed an hour and half late! So much for trying to get here on TIME. It could be worse I guess. I could have missed the damn flight all together.

The wait did give me some precious down time to work on some of the pics from the weekend. I had a really good time at the GBS (gay blogger summit II) this past weekend. The pic below should give you an indication of how it went.

Click here or on my pics link in the tidbits on the left for more. I’m only about halfway thru so you’ll have to come back for the rest.

The plane has apparently been douched and is fit for human travel again. I must be going…

I’m Back!

Yes, I’m back from LA. I had a great time celebrating my 36th birthday. Everyone keeps asking “Why LA?”. It wasn’t planned. We just decided to go on a whim. It was fun getting down to WeHo (West Hollywood) and seeing how the other side lives. This was the first trip together for the roomie and I. I can report we make pretty good traveling buddies. Actually, we got along beautifully1.

While in town, we did the bars, the clubs, you know the whole S&M (stand and model) routine. OY, so much effort so little time. The bars/clubs were ok but everyone seemed overdressed. Not overdressed as in formal but just too much. Everything seemed so contrived as to present a look. What happened to going out to just enjoy yourself? Anyway, I had way more fun just hanging out visting the local hang outs. We did not get to see a filming of Wisecrack. I checked and they just weren’t filming.

The name “urban sprawl” most definitely applies to LA. Besides WeHo, we hit the Valley, Silverlake, Hollywood, and parts of Pasadena. Way too much driving. Made me homesick for SF. I love being able to walk or MUNI everywhere.

I’m proud to say I made it to the gym while in town. Oooohhhhweee! The WeHo Gold’s was a cornecopia of hot menses. I even scoped out some celebs. My roomie pointed out Fabio too me. I’d like to apologize here. Fabio doesn’t look gay in person at all. I always thought he was a bit of a “nelly”. I’ve made more than a few disparaging remarks about him. Seeing him at the gym, he is actually quite masculine. Now, if he’d just cut that damn hair. I got to see Rubert Everet as well. He, on the otherhand, did not look so good. Maybe he had a hard night. Or, maybe he just had a “hard knight”? (Ok, no more cheesy comments.) I’m also convinced I saw the kid from the original Never Ending Story as well. He was quite grown up and not half bad either. If it was him, I always knew he was gonna be gay. I saw a few other famous folks. Since I don’t really know their real names, pardon me for no more name dropping.

Ok, now to the juicy part.2 *Warning NSFW*

Back At It

I’m back in SF. It was good to be away but it’s also good to be home. The flight back could not have gone better. It was a direct flight and just under half full. I have the whole row to myself. I spent the time watching DVD’s and playing Blackhawk Striker.

Today, I’m sitting in front of the computer waiting for the 15 billion emails to download1. Speaking of computers, the new spam filter I installed on the blog is working quite well. Large Tony recommended it, Spam Karma 2, and I’ve been very pleased with it overall.

I have a ton of errands to do today. None of which will actually get done. The maids are also coming so I at least have to run out and get some cash for them2.

So I’m asking myself, “was the trip worth it?” My answer. Most definitely yes. I had a great time and it was very relaxing. I needed the time away and the trip served its purpose. I didn’t think of work more than once. I did go over budget but not by much. This means I get to eat more than raman noodles for the next two weeks. heheee.

Sadly, this is the last trip of the year. It’s back to reality and putting my nose to the grindstone. However, I made mention before the trip I was cutting back on some stuff. I’m looking forward to having a little more free time on my hands.

1 I almost never use the computer at home these days. The laptop is newer and faster. However, I have to run it every so often to clean off the email servers.

2 I ran out of checks two weeks ago. I’ll add ordering new ones to the list of things that won’t get done today.

Medium Rare or Well Done?

Well, the trip is slowly winding down. I had a really good time. I was actually a little worried I’d be bored as I didn’t plan anything this trip. I usually try to squeeze in one or two touristy things while I’m here. I didn’t plan anything in advance this time.

Saturday after the beach, I went bar hopping w/a gang of guys I met at the resort where I was staying. Someone commented about where I was staying. I stay at the Grand Resort every time I visit FTL. They recently added a spa which they push really hard now.

I’m digressing… We started off at Bill’s. Kinda like the Edge in SF. Good crowd and very friendly muscle bears. Grrrrrr! Then it was over to Ramrod (leather/levi/sleaze bar) and lastly George’s Alibi. George’s is by far my favorite bar in FTL. Diverse crowds, good musice/videos, pool, and hot bartendars. I always have a good time there. Afterwards, I ran over to Granny’s (aka the baths) to say hello. Granny was very happy to see me1! Oy was I tired when I got home.

Yesterday, I drove down to South Beach, Miami for the day. One of the guys from the resort tagged along and was good company. En route we had a little snafu, I ended up taking the wrong exit ramp. Not being afraid to stop and ask directions, this little detour only added 20 minutes to the drive. However, I can now say, I’ve been to Pinecrest, Florida. hehehe.

Ahhhhh!

Today’s adventure was deciding whether to get the seaweed facial or the full body massage by Brock. I chose the latter. And let me tell you, Brock knew his stuff. After being manhandled over the course of an hour, my hand had touched both of his nipples1, his neck, his face, and his crotch. Don’t get me wrong, he was professional. He was very thorough and gave a great massage. I just couldn’t help but notice how he directed my arms and they consistently bumped into his anatomy. I was a tad embarassed when I flipped over and Mr. Happy was standing at attention2. He didn’t mind and said so every time he had to move it out of the way to massage my legs. He didn’t step over the line once (damn it!).

The rest of the afternoon was spent at the beach. I noticed today I’ve been overly careful about burning. So much so, I don’t have much sun! That’s ok, tomorrow I’m driving down to Miami/South Beach. I’m sure the boys will keep me preoccupied enough to get a tan.

I’m just in from the gym, had a good workout, and stopped by Arby’s on the way back to the hotel. Now I just need to figure out if I wanna order in or go out.

1 Both of which I discovered were pierced.

2 It is a documented fact that body massages release endorphines which sometimes cause spontaneous erections. I’m innocent (this time).

Oh So Blue

My first time on Jetblue has been decent1. Even though I’m laying over in New York at JFK. The direct flights were all full so I had to bite the bullet and just do it. The flight home is a direct flight. It’s warm but muggy here today. Actually, it’s a very southern day in the big Apple.

I did encounter a problem w/security because of a new regulation regarding liquids carried on board. Other than that, the experience has been good. The seats really are a little bigger and you do have more leg room. I’m glad I bought the laptop as nothing was on 36 channels2 that I cared to watch. JetBlue get’s brownie points for carrying scifi as part of their line-up though.

I always stay two places when I travel to Ft Lauderdale. I know weird but here’s why. I hate the seascape designs you see in so many sea side resorts. In fact, you could say I detest it. The place I normally stay doesn’t do that however, they are a bit pricey. Knowing how I am, I always stay the first night in a resort w/the standard seascapes to remind myself why I continually fork over the extra dollars. I know, quirky but I can live w/it and it serves me well.

1 I misjudged the travel time on public transit and was almost late. I also remembered to bring the camera. Yes, I’m patting myself on the back for not forgetting it this time. Lets see if I can hold onto the memory cards.

2 36 channels and I couldn’t find a single show I cared to watch. Does that make me picky or sad?
